Advisory Board
Simon Bentley has 20 years of experience as a consultant advising the agribusiness sector on investments and markets and as a fund manager researching commodity investment strategies. His focus has been mainly the markets for grains, oilseeds, sugar, and biofuels, but he has also advised on diverse other markets such as rubber, cocoa, and diamonds. Mr. Bentley has worked with several energy and chemical companies to help them understand how to enter the agricultural space, as well as with biotech companies searching for new crop technologies.
Mr. Bentley was for several years the VP of fund research in Singapore at Olam International’s commodity financial services business called Invenio. He left Invenio in 2013 to found Commoditia, a Singapore registered company that he now uses as a vehicle to advise his clients in agribusiness providing intelligence, data, and analysis. Since 2013, he has also served on the advisory board of Milltrust International Group.
Mr. Bentley studied Physics at Trinity College Oxford, and Economics at the London School of Economics. In the past, he has worked as a lecturer at the Australian National University in Canberra, as well as at Warwick University in the UK.
