In 1976, Mr Al Darmaki assumed the role of Director in the Bond & Equity department at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), reporting directly to H.H., the Managing Director. His current responsibilities at ADIA encompass crucial aspects such as asset allocation, portfolio management, and strategic decision-making. Mr Al Darmaki is actively involved as a member of the Investment, Strategy, and Alpha Committees at ADIA.

In addition to his significant contributions at ADIA, Mr Al Darmaki holds various board positions. He serves as a Board and Committee Member at the Emirates Investment Authority and Gulf capital.

His past roles include Chairmanship at esteemed institutions such as the Central Bank of the UAE, Abu Dhabi Investment Company, Abu Dhabi Securities Market, Global Investment House (Kuwait), and Board Membership at the National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Al Hilal Bank, Arab Banking Corporation, and Qatar Telecom (Ooredoo).

In his capacity as an entrepreneur, Mr Al Darmaki is the founding partner of Gulf Capital, a prominent private equity firm in the UAE. The firm received the prestigious Best Private Equity in MENA award from global industry peers at the Private Equity International («PEI») in 2022.
